Infrastructure, in the form of public facility, supports quality of life and is the foundation of a healthy economy. ASGISA places infrastructure provision and maintenance high on the development agenda as a key to sustainable development and economic growth. Masingita Group of Companies therefore upholds a vision that says BEE must succeed; it must be hands on; it must create jobs; it must work to the benefit of the communities and it must embrace training and development to ensure relevant skills development. Masingita Group of Companies believes that this philosophy will help to set the country on a higher and sustainable growth trajectory and improved social development.
The company has an effective training and upliftment policy with special focus on historically disadvantaged individuals, particularly women. Individuals are mentored and trained in property management and thereafter placed at various properties and retail operations under the management of the company.
Masingita Group of Companies is therefore sub-contractor orientated which allows for participation in every stage of construction by Historically Disadvantaged Entities. In projects that Masingita Group of Companies undertakes, construction work is sub-contracted to construction companies owned by blacks, particularly women, youth and persons with disability. In all projects, Masingita Group of Companies commits to using labour intensive construction methods making the creation of decent work opportunities and sustainable livelihoods the primary focus of the company policy. Onsite mentoring and training is an active ingredient of the construction approach embraced by the company. This approach ensures that a legacy of not only the physical infrastructure is left, but a broader skills base which makes community members eligible for permanent work in the construction sector. |
